a;scratch 정릉 도로미관 개선사업

aplan-company applied the a;scratch technique to a streetscape improvement project in Jeongneung, Seongbuk-gu. Murals, the most common form of public art, are usually painted by mixing pigment and drawing an image; scratch art instead scrapes back walls covered in soot and dust, or already cracked and worn, to recreate an image on the surface itself. Because the wall is used as it is, the work sits without friction against its surroundings, and even as the wall deteriorates further it retains its artistic presence alongside the image. Working from designs shaped by residents' input, walls people had passed without noticing became part of the neighborhood's landscape.
