Art Change up 선정작 <승무>

'Seungmu: Unbroken Breath' is part of <Rhythms of Dance: Moments in Which Dance Flows>, selected for the Arts Council Korea's 2023 Art Change up online media arts program. Seungmu is a jangsam dance embodying the fundamental nature of life — born, growing and returning to its origin as the universe opens — and stands among the representative works of Korean dance. The piece emphasizes an unbroken image of circulation through transitions linking repeated circular forms to the choreography, and combines media art with lighting art to stage the dance as if it were a rite. The artist Nam Hwa-yeon performs an elegant choreography with the long jangsam sleeves, carrying the work's central theme. It captures the moment dance and image move on a single breath.
