a:kailo <짓다>

Project 〈Jit-da (To Build)〉 was made as an attempt to build new meaning upon the time and the undeleted sensations left inside abandoned structures. The film attends to what a discarded structure still holds, capturing the process of rethinking, reconstructing and generating new form through experimental media. Projection mapping and lighting were used not to cover the ruined surface but to reveal its grain. The project is also the first journey of a:kailo, which takes its name from the 6,000-year-old root kailo (to heal) and redefines the role of art in contemporary society through the lens of healing.
