남화연 <혼>

<Hon (Spirit)>, by the dancer Nam Hwa-yeon, renders the breath and spirituality of Korean traditional dance in the language of the stage. aplan-company handled stage direction and video documentation, designing the lighting and staging so the dancer's movement reads as clearly as possible. Decorative staging was stripped away to concentrate on the line of the body and the space around it, keeping the dance at the center of the frame. While the form of the traditional dance was preserved, a contemporary stage sensibility was added. It is a work that traces the arc of spirit drawn by the body.
