<Yeonbun>, a special night-opening performance at the Korean Folk Village, is a large-scale multimedia production telling the sorrowful love of a couple in the Joseon era, fusing Korean dance and other traditional performance with advanced digital content including LED performance and shadow art. aplan-company was responsible for the overall media façade and planned and directed the stage effects, using projection mapping to achieve the immersion of an experiential exhibition in an outdoor setting. The village's traditional architecture served directly as the stage backdrop, so the space itself became part of the narrative without any built set. The intensity of the staging was calibrated for the variables of an outdoor venue — ambient light and viewing distance. Meet a contemporary performance unfolding in a traditional space.
