수원화성 성곽 <마고신>

aplan-company presented a media façade on the walls of Hwaseong Fortress in Suwon, drawing on the creation myth of Mago, the giant goddess passed down orally in Korean folk tradition. The work focused on combining the mythic elements of Mago with contemporary media art to realize a living visual narrative across the monumental fortress wall. Mapping calculated around the curvature and length of the rampart let scenes unfold as they flowed from one end to the other. The mythic scenes spread across the great wall move as if breathing, conveying the world of Korean creation myth in a new way. Meet a way of re-inscribing story upon heritage, at Hwaseong Fortress.
